Alexandra Cutler-Fetkewicz

We are excited to welcome Alexandra Cutler -Fetkewicz, violinst, of Philly Music Lab to the Redcoats Team! She will be recording the music for our score, composed by Jamie Lokoff of Philly's Milkboy the Studio.

ALEXANDRA CUTLER-FETKEWICZ, VIOLIN, PERFORMER/RECORDING ARTIST/ARRANGER

A classically trained musician, Alexandra holds a tenured position in the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and received a Master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in violin performance and music literature. Her private teachers have included Jascha Brodsky, Oleh Krysa, and Sylvia Rosenberg. As a freelancer in her hometown of Philadelphia, Alexandra performs regularly with Opera Philadelphia, the Academy of Vocal Arts Orchestra, and the Philly Pops.

Masterful in multiple genres, Alexandra has toured nationally as principal second violin with famed saxophonist Branford Marsalis, improvised in concert with Elvis Costello, and shared the Carnegie Hall stage with Jill Scott, another Philadelphia native. Alexandra is also the first violinist of the Volume Quartet, a hard rock string ensemble. She has performed with many of popular music’s greats, such as Peter Gabriel, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Harry Connick Jr., Rod Stewart, Julie Andrews, Styx, and the list goes on. Alexandra also enjoys performing and recording film scores, and won critical acclaim for her performance with John Williams, in a concert conducted by the composer himself. Her performance to the packed theater included the violin solo from “Schindler’s List”, as well as solos from the films “Far and Away," and "The Reivers."

Some of Alexandra's recordings and arrangements can be heard on "Satellite Paradiso," a recent release by John Ashton (The Psychedelic Furs), which also features rock n’ roll greats such as Marianne Faithfull and Gail Ann Dorsey, as well as current and original members of The Psychedelic Furs. Alexandra's work is also featured on the solo album "Open" by classic rock legend Jon Anderson, of the band YES. In 2015, the hotly anticipated live showcase album by Jeff Bradshaw and Friends, entitled "Home," was released by Shanachie Records. The star-studded album features many original R&B and Neo-Soul string arrangements by Ms. Cutler-Fetkewicz. “Home” charted in the top ten of the Billboard Jazz Top 100, remaining there for many months after its release.

Alexandra's current focus is on performing, recording and arranging commercial and non-classical repertoire. She is a Voting Member of The Recording Academy in the genres of classical and R&B for the Grammy awards, and is also proud to be a SESAC writer/publisher affiliate. Alexandra is also the CEO and founder of Philly Music Lab, an entertainment consulting and contracting company she started with two fellow Eastman School alumni, aimed at helping talented local musicians in all genres network and collaborate with each other by creating new performance opportunities for them.
